The Cast Iron valves means the valves which body material is made from Cast Iron. Cast iron is a group of iron–carbon alloys with a carbon content more than 2%, along with varying amounts of silicon and manganese and traces of impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus. It is made by reducing iron ore in a blast furnace, and make the ingot subsequently remelted along with scrap and alloying elements in cupola furnaces and recast into molds for producing a variety of products. There are several different types of cast iron material, for example Grey Cast Iron, White Cast Iron, Malleable Cast Iron, Ductile Iron etc. Commonly, the Grey Cast Iron and Ductile Iron are used as valve materials for valve body and valve seat.
