Cryogenic Valve

  • PRODUCT DETAIL

A cryogenic valve means a valve which could be used in the cryogenic conditions which is extremely low temperature. The scientistsdefinethe“cryogenictemperature” which differfromthe “lowtemperature” , its range is from −238 °F to −460 °F (-150℃ toabsolutezerodegree). it’s not common to encounter such low temperatures in ordinary processes, they can only be achieved when using specialized equipment and cryogenic liquids such as liquid nitrogen etc.

In the industry valve designing, when we use a cryogenic valve, the working temperature is commonly lower than -100℃. Commonly the cryogenic valves are used in the piping systems of special gas and liquid, LNG equipment, Air separation processing, Aerospace storage facilities etc.

There are some materialsused a lot for cryogenic valves design, 300 Series Stainless steel,Hastelloys, Monelmaterial or other Nickel alloys. They have a very good performance in the extremely low temperatures down to -196℃. Besides choosing the suitable material for valve accessories, the construction type of the valves are also important. For example, when use a butterfly valve in cryogenic temperature equipment, you’d better choose the triple offset butterfly valve design.

The cryogenic valve is very important in modern industry processing systems now.
